The disturbing problem of the disappearing socks during laundry has been solved by yours truly. This picture proves that our washing machines have them hidden somewhere inside. Or they just eat them. My question is, how many socks can the machine actually take??? (because I have A LOT of missing socks) But whatever the answer, this is one sock that tried and failed.

We have a front loading washer and I recently found several socks and hair bands inside the front rubber part, (I don't know the technical term for that area). I always check after each load now.

You're such the sleuth, Mandi. I'm actually relieved to hear that you have missing socks. Your cleaning & laundering habits are impeccable. I thought my missing socks were due to some sloppiness on the job!
